Plus Size Tights for Curvy Women

I don’t often have my legs on display but I’ve recently bought a couple of dresses and tights have been on my shopping list.  One of the reasons I stopped wearing dresses was because I’ve put weight on over the years and plus size tights always seemed to be too small or they only came in ‘old lady’ colours.  So when I got the opportunity recently to try some Pamela Mann 50 Denier Curvy Super Stretch Tights I jumped at it.

In the past when I’ve bought plus size tights they usually came in a limited range of sizes with the largest being XL (a size 18-20).  Even then there would always be a struggle to get them up over my very curvy belly and the gusset was always just short of where it was supposed to be – and I’m only 5ft 4″.  When I did decide to wear them on a night out, nine times out of ten I’d end up pulling them up every couple of minutes fearful that the waistband would end up round my knees.  Consequently I’d usually end up laddering them.  Sometimes when I wore tights to go out I’d even wear an extra pair of knickers over the top, just to make sure they didn’t fall down!

As soon as I started to pull the Curvy Super Stretch Tights on I knew they were going to be different.  From slipping them over my toes they slid up over my knees effortlessly.  So far so good.  Past my thighs, over my hips and safely over my belly up to my waist – gusset where it was supposed to be.  They didn’t feel stretched too tight and I didn’t feel like Nora Batty either (no wrinkles).  There was good toe coverage and a waistband that fitted well.

I tried the navy blue plus size tights in size 2XL (20-22).  The colour was good and had a slight sheen to it.  The material felt thick but didn’t look like I was wearing leggings.  The tights give light leg support and I have to say my legs did feel good in them.  I’d feel quite happy wearing them with a dress or even a long-line top (and only one pair of knickers).
