Remember when you had to print photos out and the whole family would have fun looking through them, remembering holidays, family, pets or just random pictures? I feel we’ve lost something since everything went digital and your photos are now on your phone or in the cloud. How often do you look through them? If you’re like me, then not very often! So here are67 cool things to do with photos so they get seen.
Photo Wall
It might seem obvious but have you actually done it? Print out all your favourite photos, frame them and arrange them on a wall so you see them every time you walk past. You can pick up cheap frames from car boot sales and charity shops. Why not mix them up with different sizes and colours to make a really fab picture wall.
Coffee Mugs
One of the most common cool things to do with photos is to put them on a coffee mug. You could create a set of 2 or 4 to give as a gift for Christmas or a birthday. The photos don’t have to be of family, you could use photos of places that hold special memories. And as we use mugs on a daily basis they’ll get seen regularly.
Memory Book
This is a great idea for displaying lots of photos around a specific theme. We had our 35th wedding anniversary last year and my daughter made us a photo memory book that reflected our 35 years of marriage. It was definitely our favourite gift. Other memory book themes could be a favourite holiday, special parties or how about your child’s first day of school each year.
Coasters
Adding your photos to coasters was something I hadn’t thought of until recently. But what a fab idea. We used an online printing company to make our personalised wooden coasters and they turned out really lovely. I was so pleased with the quality of the coasters, which are made from hardboard and have a heat resistant gloss coating. We also chose a wooden coaster holder to go with them. Ours are on display and when we’re not using them we rotate the coasters so the holder shows a different photo each day.
Bookmark
If you’re an avid reader (or know someone who is) then creating your own DIY bookmark is a really cool thing to do with your photos. You could cut a photo out to the required size or you could use an online design tool like Canva to create a template and print it out. Either way you would then just laminate the bookmark, punch a hole in it and add some wool or ribbon to create a loop. They’d made great personalised stocking fillers for anyone who loves books.
Framed Wrapping Paper
While I was on the website choosing my personalised wooden coasters I also saw some personalised wrapping paper. I thought this was a very cool way to use your photos. But you might not want to throw personalised wrapping paper away so how about framing the photo wrapping paper and putting it on your wall. My daughter got married recently, and my son is getting married very soon and I think this would be a really lovely gift as well as being one of the really cool things to do with photos.
