Really we’re happy with almost anything. Although I don’t know if I’d be keen on getting some electrical appliance for my birthday … would you? So I came up with a list of some great gifts for women turning 60. Use inspiring mottos, warm family photos, dates or symbols with special significance to be displayed through custom Neon Signs, adding a touch of her own personality to decor.

There’s nothing better than being given a gift voucher for a spa day. Being able to relax by a pool, slip into a hot tub, have a delicious lunch and be pampered with a regenerating facial treatment or a full body massage is my idea of heaven. And if the gift giver can go along too then that’s even better. There are some great spa day packages out there. Check out some of the best spas in the UK for find one that suits her best.

A homemade afternoon tea is a lovely gift idea for women turning 60 (or any age really lol). Put out your best table linen, tea cups, plates and cake stands, make (or buy) some delicious sandwiches, scones and cakes and invite her over for a cosy afternoon. Of course if you would prefer to take her out for afternoon tea there are some wonderful places you could book.

Bingo Daubers

Lots of women over 60 love to play a game of bingo. It’s fun and a great way to socialise with friends. So why not give her some really good Bingo Daubers to make her night even more fun. Why not add a Word Search Puzzle Book with a self-care theme … she can relax and get inspiration for her own selfcare activities.

Makeup Gift Set

While it’s not a good idea to buy foundation products for a woman (unless they’ve told you what they like), this Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Secrets set is something that will suit most women. The nude pink lip liner is soft and creamy, the matte lipstick soft and flattering, and the collagen lip bath or the jewel lip gloss are a gorgeous finishing touch.

Yes we can all take photos with our phones these days but an Instax Mini 11 will give her instant credit card size photos she can display and enjoy daily.

Why not buy her a stylish (or cutesy) photo album to go with the camera or maybe get the grandchildren to buy the album … they love to contribute. Photo albums full of memories make ideal coffee table books.

Personal Stylist

I recently stumbled across a personal stylist in my local area on instagram and thought what a fab idea! I’d love someone to have a look through my wardrobe and advise me on clothing that might suit my changing shape and greying hair. It’s not the cheapest of my gift ideas for women turning 60 but it’s something a lot of us would appreciate. Just do a search on Google or social media for ‘Personal Stylist’ to find one local and make sure you check out their reviews. They even go shopping with you. Actually I quite like this as a Christmas gift idea.

Theatre Tickets

There’s a huge array of performances to choose from at the theatre. From musicals to plays to stand-up comedy to dance performances from TV’s Strictly Come Dancing professionals, there’s something to suit everyone’s tastes. And if you don’t fancy buying her tickets to a West End show (or any professional show … they can get expensive), why not buy tickets for your local am dram group. We recently went to see a play at our local amateur theatre and were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed it.

Perfume

It does sound a bit cliche to buy her perfume but what if you bought her a designer fragrance subscription. With Scentful you can buy a 3 month or 12 month subscription and she’ll receive 2 x 5ml surprise designer perfumes each month. This gives a 30 day supply of perfume (4 – 5 sprays per day) and she gets to try perfumes she may not have thought of. Definitely one of my favourite gifts for women turning 60.

Handbag

Most women love a handbag and one of my most-loved gifts was a Vendula Cat Cafe handbag. Vendula does a whole range of cute and quirkly handbags in vegan leather and bright synthetics. They have a huge choice of shop front or boutique styles, just pick one that suits her tastes.

The reciever selects one each month (or week) and the giver agrees to go on that date with her. Dates could be anything from a trip to the local shopping centre to a meal out to a drive to the coast.
