It’s that time of the week again, time to give you the details of 7 random Ebay sales we’ve posted out recently. We have a lot more than 7 sales per week but I try to pick out a wide selection of things to show you the variety of items we sell.
Item:Â Boden Empire Line Dress
Paid £3 (charity shop)
I loved the print on this dress and the shape, it hung really well on my mannequin and the colours just popped. It was listed for a couple of 30 day cycles but I didn’t think it would stay in my stock room for long, and it didn’t.
Sold: £25 + £3.50 p&p

Item:Â 36 x Brita Water Filter Cartridges
Paid: 30p per cartridge (retail arbitrage)
We picked these up from a clearance shelf in a local chemist shop on one of our retail arbitrage hunts. Retail arbitrage is where you buy new items that are on sale or on clearance in a retail shop and then resell them for a profit on Ebay or Amazon. There were a lot of them on the shelf so we decided to buy 90 of them at 30p each, making a total of £27. We listed them in batches of 12 and had an extra batch of 6. All 90 cartridges sold within a week of listing them! On this sale, the customer bought three batches of 12 and they went on the GSP to Italy.
Sold: £75 + £4 p&p (36 cartridges)

Item: Next Short Sleeve Maternity Dress
Paid: £1.50 (car boot sale)
Not much to say about this dress really, just the fact that maternity clothes are worth picking up.

Item:Â Alcatel PIXI4 Smartphone
Paid: £10 (retail arbitrage)
I bought the last three of these in the shop. they were £10 each, so I spent £30 in total. Hubby wasn’t convinced they were going to sell and to be honest neither was I but I like to take a chance now and again and this time I was right. They were listed for about a month but then all three sold within a week. I think if your Ebay listing has multiples on it then when one sells that listing gets a boost so they all sell pretty quickly (that’s my theory anyway).

Item:Â Union Blues Long Denim Skirt
Paid: £2 (charity shop)
Earlier this year I picked up 4 denim skirts from charity shops, all different styles and sizes. I don’t usually pick up skirts as I haven’t had much luck with them in the past but thought I’d give them a go as they were denim. This one sold first but I still have the other three and I’m not sure if I would pick up any more – it’s a decent profit but they seem to be really slow sellers.

Item:Â Spongebob Square Pants Krusty Krab Cafe & Pineapple House
Paid: £6 (car boot sale)
I think I may have mentioned before that I love selling little playsets! I was going to sell the Krusty Krab on its own but then when I was doing some research on them I noticed that they sell much better if you put them with the Pineapple House. Luckily I managed to pick up a Pineapple House on our next car boot trip. Each set had lots of accessories and figures with it which always helps to sell them quickly. It was only listed for a couple of days before that kerching came in.

Item: Vax Hand-Held Steamer
Paid: £6 (car boot sale)
Although this item had been taken out of the packaging it had never been used (I love to find items like this). All the accessories were with it and it still had the instruction booklet. I couldn’t find another one of these models listed on Ebay so I went with a price that a similar model seemed to be selling for, and mine sold within a couple of weeks.
Sold: £30 + £7.50 p&p
Profit after Ebay & Paypal fees: £26.56
My favourite of the Ebay sales this week has to be the Brita Filter Cartridges, they just flew out the door! I think we’re going to be doing a lot more retail arbitrage hunts in the future.
